Justin Rose: What an honor!

Justin Rose was awarded the Payne Stewart Award last night. The Payne Stewart award is given to the golfer who illuminates Stewart’s unwavering values of charity and sportsmanship. Rose has shown these values throughout the year in many ways, “Justin Rose embodies everything the Payne Stewart Award represents,” said PGA TOUR Commissioner Jay Monahan. Rose continually roots for his competitors as well as donating to many charities. In fact, he and his wife established their own “Kate & Justin Rose Foundation” which helps communities across South Africa, the United States, the Bahamas and in England. Rose is the 24th recipient of the Payne Stewart Award and the second English player to win, joining a distinguished group of respected golfers.

Rose accepted the award stating, “I am truly humbled and honored to be associated with the enduring legacy of Payne Stewart through this award,” Rose said. “The Payne Stewart Award has become an annual celebration of Payne’s impact on the PGA TOUR and its players. I am forever grateful to be connected to a man who was the consummate professional on and off the golf course and will cherish being a Payne Stewart Award recipient well after my playing days are over…”

Matthew Fitzpatrick: Did Corona crush his clubs?

No, it wasn’t the virus that ripped off the head of one of Fitzpatrick’s clubs, but instead just faulty luggage handling on his Delta Airline flight. However he took to twitter to express his frustration with the airline, but just tagged “Delta” so some of his followers were questioning the culprit of the damage. Jokingly of course..

Eddie Pepperell poked at the fun as well, replying to Fitzpatrick’s tweet with his own frustration of Delta.  

There is no update whether Delta Airlines contacted Fitzpatrick regarding his club damage. It seems that the golfer is one club down and we are hoping it wasn’t his favorite!

Update: Ian Poulter and his new Tee Time!

Ian Poulter has shared his updated Tee Time for the Norther Trust. The final round has been delayed due to rain and the players have been anxiously waiting to tee off for the final time for this PGA championship. Will this delay cause a disruption in Poulter’s performance? We are anxious to find out.

Charlie Hull was cut at the AIG Women’s Open 2021 and didn’t land on that leaderboard. Despite her recent performance, she is still a player to keep an eye on. We caught her sharing her swings to her social media Sunday. Keep swinging Charley!

Justin Rose is “gutted” over his PGA season being over

Despite his successful year, Rose failed to qualify for the FedEx Cup for the first time in his PGA career.

His current season highlights include finishing T8 at the PGA Championship, his second consecutive top-10 at the event and fifth in his career. Led the field in Strokes Gained: Putting (2.932 per round). During the Masters, he shot a first-round 65 and took a four-stroke 18-hole lead before finishing solo-seventh.

The FedExCup is a season-long points competition which culminates with the FedExCup Playoffs, a series of three events to determine the FedExCup Champion. The top 125 players in the FedExCup standings are eligible for the FedExCup Playoffs with the three events featuring a progressive cut with fields of 125, 70 and 30. Justin Rose currently ranks at 126 which leaves him out of the running for this season’s championship. Despite missing out this year, Rose seems to be holding his head high for his fans.

Women’s Scottish Open: Will this squad end up on the Leaderboard?

With the end of the first round each player currently sits at, Hall- 71, Green- 73, and SuOh- 73. We are eager to see if this squad will advance within the next rounds.

Georgia Hall is an English pro golfer and has been playing the game since she was 7 years old. She has an impressive career history and was named Rookie of the Year in 2018. Following that she went on to claim two LPGA titles, the 2018 Ricoh Women’s British Open and the 2020 Cambia Portland Classic.

Hannah Green is an Australian pro golfer and just represented Australia at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo finishing at T5. Green’s breakthrough win was the first wire-to-wire victory at the major championship since Yani Tseng in 2011 and the first major win by an Australian since Karrie Webb in 2006. In 2020 she made 14 events, 13 cuts made, $442,843 (22).

Su Oh is also an Australian golfer who has had a love for the game since a child. She represented her country at the 2016 RIO Olympics and finished at T13. Her highlights include Posted three top-15 finishes, including a season-best T6 at the ISPS Handa Vic Open in 2020, recorded four top-10 results including a season-best finish of second twice in 2019, at the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give and the ISPS Handa Vic Open in 2019 and recorded season-best T4 finishes at the CP Women’s Open and the LPGA Volvik Championship in 2018.

Ian Poulter has that Friday feeling

English professional golfer, Ian Poulter celebrates it finally being the weekend on his Instagram. Although entertaining, we think Poulter should stick to golfing… However, it is not surprising seeing this kind of behavior from Poulter as he known for having an extroverted sense of humor. He is very active on social media and portrays his outgoing personality regularly.

When he isn’t trying to make it as the next TikTok influencer, Poulter leads in the golf world with career highlights such as 3 PGA Tour victories and 12 International victories. He just finished T10 at the FedEx St. Jude Invitational 2021. He currently ranks 50th on the World Golf Ranking.

Ladies Scottish Open: Nanna Madsen -First Swing on a Fresh New Course

The Ladies Scottish Open will be taking place at a brand-new venue in Dumbarnie Links from 12-15 August. Nanna Madsen will be teeing off tomorrow at 10:09am (Central European Time). The Danish golfer updates her Instagram followers by giving us a practice swing on the course. The course lies 9 miles from St. Andrews and gives a stunning view of the water from each hole. It was designed by Ryder Cup player Clive Clark and even named ‘Development of the Year 2020’ by Golf Inc. Magazine. Madsen, who just finished T9 in the Golf Olympics 2021 seems eager to play on the new course. She secured a season-best finish of T5 at the Aberdeen Standard Investments Ladies Scottish Open last year. Let us see what this new Links Course has in store for her this year.
