WITB: Nacho Elvira Wins with Brand-New Callaway Quantum Driver

WITB: With a new Callaway driver, proven iron setup, and striking putter, Nacho Elvira secured his third DP World Tour title at the Dubai Invitational.

Against a strong field, Nacho Elvira kept his composure at the Dubai Invitational. He celebrated his third DP World Tour win with a first-ever addition in his bag.

Breakthrough with the New Callaway Quantum Driver

The Spaniard, aged 38, claimed his first win of the year and debuted the brand-new Callaway Quantum Triple Diamond Max Driver with 7.5° loft and a Graphite Design Tour AD TX shaft. The new Quantum driver proved its worth right from the first public use.

Consistency on the Fairway

Elvira trusts the Callaway Parady Ai Smoke Max fairway wood set at 14 degrees with a Fujikura Ventus TR Red shaft, an unchanged setup for two years. The transition from wood to iron is complemented by the Callaway Apex UW 25, also equipped with a Graphite Design Tour AD TX shaft.

Utility and a Compact Iron Setup

A staple in Elvira’s bag is the Callaway X Forged UT CF18 utility iron with 24 degrees loft from 2018, played with a Mitsubishi Chemical Tensei AV Raw White 90 HY TX shaft, a combo he used in previous victories. Due to this head-heavy setup, his traditional iron set starts at 5-iron, playing Callaway Apex TCB 5-iron and Apex MB irons from 6 to 9, all with KBS $-Taper X shafts, a long-term constant.

He also relies on precision and variety in wedges: a four-wedge setup featuring Titleist Vokey Wedgeworks 44°, Vokey SM10 50° and 54°, and Vokey Wedgeworks Proto 58°. The lower lofts use KBS $-Taper X shafts, while the 58° wedge has a True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 shaft.

WITB: Success with the Putter

The most striking club in Elvira’s bag is the Odyssey Ai-One Jailbird Mini 1/2 Ball Prototype putter. Featuring distinctive alignment aids with a black line, white semi-circle on the crown, and a two-tone clubface, this putter led Elvira to top putting stats on decisive days and was key to his success.
