Facing a strong field, Nacho Elvira kept his composure to claim his third DP World Tour victory at the Dubai Invitational, marking a first in his bag setup.
Breakthrough with the New Callaway Quantum Driver
The 38-year-old Spaniard celebrated his first win of the year and first tournament appearance with the new Callaway Quantum Triple Diamond Max Driver, lofted at 7.5 degrees and equipped with a Graphite Design Tour AD TX shaft. The new Quantum Driver proved its worth immediately in its public debut.
Consistency on the Fairway
Elvira relies on the Callaway Parady Ai Smoke Max fairway wood set to 14 degrees, featuring a Fujikura Ventus TR Red shaft, unchanged for two years. His transition from wood to iron is supported by the Callaway Apex UW 25, also with a Graphite Design Tour AD TX shaft.
Utility and Compact Iron Setup
Essential in Elvira’s bag is the 2018 Callaway X Forged UT CF18 utility iron with 24 degrees loft, paired with a Mitsubishi Chemical Tensei AV Raw White 90 HY TX shaft, a combination he used in previous wins. Due to this head-heavy setup, his classic iron set starts at the 5-iron: a Callaway Apex TCB 5-iron combined with Callaway Apex MB irons from 6 to 9, all featuring KBS $-Taper X shafts, a longtime constant in his setup.
In wedges, Elvira opts for precision and variety with a four-wedge setup: Titleist Vokey Wedgeworks 44°, Vokey SM10 in 50° and 54°, and a Vokey Wedgeworks Proto 58°. While the lower lofts use KBS $-Taper X shafts, the 58-degree wedge has a True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 shaft.
