WITB: Nacho Elvira Wins with New Callaway Quantum Driver

WITB: With a new Callaway driver, proven iron setup, and distinctive putter, Nacho Elvira claimed his third DP World Tour title at the Dubai Invitational.

Against a strong field, Nacho Elvira kept his composure at the Dubai Invitational, celebrating his third DP World Tour victory with a debut in his bag.

Breakthrough with the New Callaway Quantum Driver

The 38-year-old Spaniard secured his first win of the year and debuted the new Callaway Quantum Triple Diamond Max Driver featuring 7.5 degrees loft and a Graphite Design Tour AD TX shaft. The new Quantum driver proved its worth immediately in public competition.

Consistency on the Fairway

Elvira relies on the Callaway Parady Ai Smoke Max fairway wood set at 14 degrees and equipped with a Fujikura Ventus TR Red shaft, unchanged for two years. His bag is complemented by the Callaway Apex UW 25 utility club with Graphite Design Tour AD TX shaft bridging his woods and irons.

Utility and Compact Iron Setup

A staple in Elvira’s bag is the 24-degree Callaway X Forged UT CF18 utility iron from 2018, paired with a Mitsubishi Chemical Tensei AV Raw White 90 HY TX shaft, a combination used in previous victories. His iron set starts at 5-iron with the Callaway Apex TCB, combined with Callaway Apex MB irons from 6 to 9, all fitted with KBS $-Taper X shafts, a constant in his setup over the years.

His precision wedge setup includes four Titleist Vokey Wedgeworks clubs: 44°, SM10 in 50° and 54°, and a Proto 58° model. The lower loft wedges use KBS $-Taper X shafts, while the 58-degree wedge features a True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 shaft.

WITB: Success with the Putter

Perhaps the most eye-catching club is the Odyssey Ai-One Jailbird Mini 1/2 Ball Prototype putter, distinguished by alignment aids including a black line, white semicircle on the crown, and two-tone face. Having recently switched from another Odyssey model, his trust in this putter paid off as he led the putting stats during critical rounds, making it a key to his victory.
