Matt Fitzpatrick claimed the 2025 DP World Tour Championship in Dubai using trusted clubs from Titleist, Ping, TaylorMade and a Bettinardi putter.
The 2025 DP World Tour season concluded at the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai, crowning two champions. Rory McIlroy secured the season-long Race to Dubai title, while England’s Matt Fitzpatrick triumphed in the final event. Fitzpatrick edged out defending champion McIlroy in a thrilling playoff, winning with a par against McIlroy’s bogey on the first extra hole. A look into Fitzpatrick’s bag reveals a mix of classic equipment choices and a bold putter switch.
Driver and Fairway Woods: Speed and Forgiveness
Off the tee, Fitzpatrick relies on the Titleist GT3 driver with 9° of loft. Despite its motorsport-sounding name, GT stands for Generational Technology. The GT3 is one of Titleist’s first drivers not fully made of titanium, featuring a thermoformed crown made from a matrix polymer that is three times lighter than titanium. This design enhances mass distribution and increases MOI, catering to players seeking high swing speeds and forgiveness.
For his fairway woods, Fitzpatrick uses TaylorMade’s Qi-35 series, carrying a 15° 3-wood and an 18° 5-wood. Known for their low-profile versatility, these clubs are designed for maximum ball speed, stability, and consistent performance—qualities Fitzpatrick showcased throughout the championship.
Irons and Wedges: Proven Performance
Fitzpatrick’s iron setup features a Ping i230 4-iron and Ping S55 irons from 5-PW. Despite the S55 series dating back to 2013, Fitzpatrick continues to trust their compact design and forgiveness, proving that older models can still deliver at the highest level.
His wedge selection includes Titleist Vokey SM10s with two different sole grinds. The 46.1° and 52.12° wedges feature the F-grind, a tour-favorite known for its versatility. The 56.08° and 60.08° wedges sport the M-grind, favored by Bob Vokey himself, ideal for players who manipulate the clubface for shot variety.
Putting Precision: Bettinardi Innovation
Fitzpatrick used a Yes Tracy II putter from age 16 until 2021, when he switched to Bettinardi after an extensive design process. Bettinardi crafted 25 prototypes before Fitzpatrick settled on the BB1 ‘Fitz’. In August 2025, he transitioned to the DASS BB48 Prototype mallet putter. Known for his accuracy inside 10 feet, Fitzpatrick’s putting remains a strength. Bettinardi, founded in 1998 by Bob Bettinardi near Chicago, continues to produce precision-milled putters in the USA.
For his golf ball, Fitzpatrick sticks with a trusted favorite—the Titleist Pro V1x, a staple among many professionals.
