From driver to putter: A look inside Justin Rose’s bag and the clubs behind his record win at Torrey Pines.
At 45 years old, Englishman Justin Rose dominated the field at Torrey Pines during the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour. With a commanding seven-stroke lead and a tournament record of 23 under par, the South African-born star claimed his first title of the season. A peek into his bag reveals a versatile club selection matching his impressive play in Southern California.
Justin Rose Trusts Callaway for His Driver
Off the tee, Rose relies on a Callaway driver with a 9° loft. The Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond Max is a high-performance club designed for experienced players seeking maximum control, a compact clubhead, and low spin without sacrificing forgiveness. It combines tour-tested performance with enhanced stability thanks to the Ai Smart Face technology, which uses real player data to create multiple sweet spots across the face. This helps stabilize spin and launch angle on off-center hits. During the Farmers Insurance Open, Rose achieved a maximum drive distance of 352 yards (approximately 322 meters) with this driver.
Fairway Woods for Every Shot
Complementing his driver, Rose carries a TaylorMade M6 3-wood with a 15° loft, featuring Twist-Face technology similar to the M5 series for explosive shots from both the fairway and tee. An improved Speed Pocket cutout in the sole increases flexibility, enhances trampoline effect at impact, and delivers more energy over a larger ball area, resulting in higher and longer shots with reduced distance loss on mishits.
Also in his bag is a TaylorMade QiD4 7-wood with 21° loft, ideal for mid- to long-range approach shots. The high ball flight ensures soft landings on the green, making it especially useful for shots from the rough. The QiD4 is a recent addition popular among many tour pros.
Iron Sets Combining Control and Feel
Rose’s irons include 4- or 5-utility irons from the Japanese maker Miura’s TC-502 series, chosen based on course conditions. For his regular irons (6 through pitching wedge), he uses Miura MC-502 models. The TC series are tour cavity-back irons offering a blend of forgiveness and performance, while the MC series are muscle cavity backs providing maximum control and feel with compact heads but requiring precise strikes.
For wedges, Rose trusts Titleist’s Vokey Design SM10 with 52° or 56° lofts, or a Vokey Design WedgeWorks with 60° loft.
Rounding out his bag is a Scotty Cameron Phantom T-5 Tour Prototype putter from Carlsbad, California. Unreleased to the public and tested by Rose since September 2025, this mallet-style putter is crafted from 303 stainless steel and 6061 aircraft aluminum. Like many on tour, Rose plays with a Titleist Pro V1x golf ball.
