From driver to putter: We take a look inside Justin Rose’s bag and the clubs that helped him set a record at Torrey Pines.
Even at 45, Englishman Justin Rose dominated his competitors at Torrey Pines during the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour. With a seven-stroke lead and a tournament record of 23 under par, the South African-born player secured his first title of the season. A look inside his bag shows that his club selection is as versatile as his game, impressively demonstrated in Southern California.
Justin Rose’s Driver: Callaway
From the tee, Justin Rose uses a Callaway driver with a 9° loft. The Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond Max is a high-performance club for experienced players seeking maximum control, compact head shape, and low spin without sacrificing the forgiveness of the “Max” design. It combines tour-tested performance with enhanced stability through Ai Smart Face technology, which uses real player data to optimize the clubface and create multiple sweet spots across the surface. This stabilizes spin and launch angle on off-center hits. At the Farmers Insurance Open, Rose achieved a maximum drive length of 352 yards (about 322 meters) with this driver.
Fairway Woods for Every Shot
Complementing his driver is a 3-wood from TaylorMade named M6 with a 15° loft. Like the M5 series, it features Twist Face technology for explosive shots from both the turf and tee. An evolution of the Speed Pocket—a slot in the sole—helps accelerate the ball even on low strikes. The Speed Pocket increases clubface flexibility, enhances the trampoline effect at impact, and transfers more energy across a larger area of the ball. The result: higher, longer shots with less distance loss on imperfect contact.
Rose also carries a 7-wood from TaylorMade with a 21° loft. Ideal for mid- to long-range approach shots, it delivers a high ball flight for soft landings on the green and suits shots from the rough well. He uses the newly introduced TaylorMade QiD4, which has already found its way into many professional bags.
Justin Rose’s Irons: Balance of Control and Feel
For irons, Rose chooses either a 4 or 5 utility iron from Japanese maker Miura’s TC-502 series based on course conditions. His regular irons (6–PW) are also Miura, called MC-502. The key difference is that the TC models are Tour Cavity irons, while the MC models are Muscle Cavity irons. Muscle-back irons (blades) offer maximum control and an intense ball feel through compact heads but require precision strikes. Cavity-back irons (often “Tour Cavity” for better players) have a cavity behind the face that shifts weight to the edges, offering more forgiveness, a lower center of gravity, and higher ball flight.
Rose trusts wedges by the traditional manufacturer Titleist, either Vokey Design SM10 with 52° or 56° loft or a Vokey Design WedgeWorks with 60° loft.
The final club in Rose’s bag comes from Carlsbad, California: a Scotty Cameron putter. The
