WITB: Bernhard Langer Stays Consistent with One Key Change

Bernhard Langer remains loyal to his trusted clubs, with just one change in his bag. Here’s a look at his current setup.

Consistency over experimentation: Compared to last year, Bernhard Langer has made only one change to his setup — his 3-wood. The German veteran continues to rely on his well-established equipment.

Bernhard Langer’s Equipment: Control and Continuity

Off the tee, Langer still uses the Ping G400 driver, known for its aerodynamic head design and high forgiveness. The goal is consistent launch and stable clubhead speed. The Graphite Design Tour AD IZ shaft complements this with a smooth, controlled feel.

The only new addition is the Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond 3-wood, designed for players seeking reduced spin. A low, forward center of gravity promotes a penetrating ball flight, while the sole design ensures clean turf interaction. Paired with the Mitsubishi Diamana BB 73 X shaft, it aims for stability and maximum energy transfer with a soft feel.

Bridging the gap between woods and irons, Langer uses two Adams Idea Pro hybrids (18 and 22 degrees), both equipped with Midas shafts for stability and balanced control, supporting precise ball flight.

Trusted Irons and Short Game Tools

Langer’s iron setup combines three Tour Edge lines: Tour Edge Exotics CBX (4–7), Tour Edge Exotics Pro 723 (8–9), and the Tour Edge BL Proto pitching wedge. All are fitted with True Temper Dynamic Gold Mid 115 shafts, offering precise distance control and consistent green attacks.

Around the greens, he trusts a 54-degree Cleveland 588 RTX wedge and a 60-degree Titleist Vogel Design Prototype. Both wedges feature Tour Issue S400 shafts for maximum spin and enhanced control.

Longtime Putter and Ball Choice

Langer continues to rely on his Odyssey White Hot 2-Ball Long putter, a model he has used for years to sink crucial putts.
