WITB: Bernhard Langer Stays Consistent with One Key Update

Consistency at the highest level: Bernhard Langer sticks to his trusted club setup. A closer look reveals the one new addition.

Rather than experimenting, Bernhard Langer has made only one change to his bag compared to last year: his 3-wood. The rest of the German veteran’s setup remains unchanged, reflecting his preference for reliability and familiarity.

Bernhard Langer’s Equipment: Control and Consistency

Off the tee, Langer continues to rely on the Ping G400 driver, known for its aerodynamic head design and high forgiveness. It’s built to deliver consistent launch and stable clubhead speed. Paired with the Graphite Design Tour AD IZ shaft, the setup offers a smooth and controlled feel.

The only new addition to his bag is the Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond 3-wood. Designed for players who benefit from reduced spin, it features a low and forward center of gravity for a penetrating ball flight. The sole design ensures clean turf interaction and minimizes mishits. The Mitsubishi Diamana BB 73 X shaft adds stability and energy transfer while maintaining a soft feel.

Bridging the gap between woods and irons, Langer uses two Adams Idea Pro hybrids (18° and 22°), both equipped with Midas shafts for balanced stability and precise ball flight.

Trusted Irons and Short Game Tools

Langer’s iron setup includes a mix of three Tour Edge series: Tour Edge Exotics CBX (4–7), Tour Edge Exotics Pro 723 (8–9), and the Tour Edge BL Proto pitching wedge. All are paired with True Temper Dynamic Gold Mid 115 shafts, offering precise distance control and accuracy into greens.

Around the greens, he trusts a 54° Cleveland 588 RTX wedge and a 60° Titleist Vogel Design Prototype. Both wedges feature Tour Issue S400 shafts for maximum spin and enhanced control.

Signature Putter and Ball Choice

Langer continues to rely on his longtime favorite, the Odyssey White Hot 2-Ball Long putter. It has been a staple in his bag for years and has helped him sink many crucial putts.

He plays the Titleist ProV1x golf ball for consistent flight and controlled spin. For grip, he uses Golf Pride V55 grips to ensure a secure hold throughout the swing.
