WITB: Bernhard Langer Stays Consistent with Subtle Equipment Change

Consistency at the highest level: Bernhard Langer continues to rely on his trusted club setup. A look in his bag reveals what’s new.

Rather than experimenting, Bernhard Langer has made just one change to his setup compared to last year: his 3-wood. The German veteran remains loyal to his proven equipment.

Bernhard Langer focuses on control and consistency

Off the tee, Langer still uses the Ping G400 driver, known for its aerodynamic head design and high forgiveness. The goal is a consistent launch with stable clubhead speed. The Graphite Design Tour AD IZ shaft complements the setup with a smooth and controlled feel.

The only update in his bag is the Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond 3-wood. Designed for players who benefit from reduced spin, this fairway wood features a low-forward center of gravity for a penetrating ball flight. Its sole design ensures clean turf interaction and minimizes mishits. Paired with the Mitsubishi Diamana BB 73 X shaft, it offers stability and efficient energy transfer while maintaining a soft feel.

Bridging the gap between woods and irons, Langer uses two Adams Idea Pro hybrids (18 and 22 degrees), both equipped with Midas shafts. These are engineered for stability and balanced performance, promoting controlled and precise ball flights.

Trusted irons and short game tools

Langer relies on a blend of three Tour Edge iron series: Tour Edge Exotics CBX (4–7), Tour Edge Exotics Pro 723 (8–9), and the Tour Edge BL Proto pitching wedge. All are paired with True Temper Dynamic Gold Mid 115 shafts, offering precise distance control and accuracy on approach shots.

Around the greens, the German veteran uses a 54-degree Cleveland 588 RTX wedge and a Titleist Vogel Design Prototype (60 degrees). Both wedges feature Tour Issue S400 shafts designed to maximize spin and enhance control.
