Under Armour Drive Pro Clone: Next-Level Golf Shoe Innovation

Under Armour’s flagship golf shoe launches February 6, offering golfers perfect fit, power, repeatability, and exceptional comfort and style.

Under Armour revolutionizes with new fitting technology

Under Armour is opening a new chapter in golf performance footwear with the launch of its Drive Pro Clone. Designed to help golfers move more naturally and play with greater confidence under varying conditions, the Drive Pro Clone tackles a long-standing challenge in golf shoes: traditional designs often struggle to adapt to the natural shape and movement of the golfer’s foot, limiting comfort and ultimately affecting player performance.

Rigid constructions can restrict a shoe’s adaptability during the swing, impacting overall fit and consistency on the course. The Drive Pro Clone offers an adaptive solution that adjusts to the golfer’s movements, ensuring a customized fit for the foot.

“Traditional golf shoes create gaps, pressure points, and power loss due to their single, rigid form,” says Jake Haley, Senior Manager for Golf Footwear and Apparel at Under Armour. “With the Drive Pro Clone, we aimed to eliminate these compromises entirely. Every golfer deserves a shoe that adapts to them—not the other way around. This design provides athletes with a truly personalized fit that remains consistent from the first to the last swing.”

Consistent support from first to last swing

At the heart of this shoe’s innovation is the proprietary auxetic Clone upper material, which behaves less like a static fabric and more like a dynamic surface. By expanding, contracting, and adapting to the unique geometry of the foot, Clone creates an adaptive fit that stays consistent throughout the entire round, regardless of fatigue, terrain or conditions.

“Clone conforms to the shape and movement of your foot, ensuring you get the same support from the first to the last swing,” says Kyle Blakely, SVP of Innovation and Design Studio at Under Armour. “Because the material behaves more like a dynamic surface than traditional textile or leather, athletes benefit from a more uniform fit, better energy transfer, and a more stable platform throughout the round.”

Already powering tour wins

Combined with Under Armour’s Swing Support System, the Drive Pro Clone delivers more repeatable power and gives golfers greater confidence on every swing. This innovation in golf footwear underscores Under Armour’s commitment to meeting golfers’ needs through materials science, precise design, and on-course tested performance.
The new shoe has already been used in numerous international tournaments and contributed to two DP World Tour victories: Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen secured his maiden win at the Australian Open in December, and Patrick Reed relied on the fit and performance of the Clone at his recent Hero Dubai Desert Classic victory.

The Drive Pro Clone is available in both spiked and spikeless versions and will be released on February 6. The recommended retail price is £160/€200 (spiked) and £140/€180 (spikeless). The shoe will also be offered in four colorways: Black/Anthracite/Metallic Gold; Distant Grey/Midnight Navy/Metallic Silver; White/White/Metallic Gun Metal; Stone/Gridiron Brown/Metallic Gun Metal.
