Under Armour’s flagship golf shoe launching February 6 offers perfect fit, power, consistency, and exceptional comfort and style.
Under Armour is opening a new chapter in golf performance shoes with the launch of its Drive Pro Clone. Designed to help golfers move more naturally and play with greater confidence under varying conditions, the shoe addresses a long-standing challenge in golf footwear: traditional designs often fail to adapt to the foot’s natural shape and movement, limiting comfort and negatively impacting player performance.
Rigid constructions can hinder a shoe’s adaptability during swings, affecting overall fit and consistency on the course. The Drive Pro Clone offers an adaptive solution that conforms to the golfer’s movements, ensuring a personalized fit for the foot.
“Traditional golf shoes cause gaps, pressure points, and power loss due to their single, fixed form,” says Jake Haley, Senior Manager for Golf Shoes and Apparel at Under Armour. “With the Drive Pro Clone, we aimed to eliminate these compromises entirely. Every golfer deserves a shoe that adapts to them, not the other way around. This design provides athletes with a truly individualized fit that stays consistent from the first to the last swing.”
Under Armour Revolutionizes Golf Footwear with Adaptive Technology
At the core of this shoe’s innovation is Under Armour’s proprietary auxetic Clone upper material, behaving less like static fabric and more like a dynamic surface. By expanding, contracting, and adjusting to the unique foot geometry, Clone creates an adaptive fit that remains consistent throughout an entire round, regardless of fatigue, terrain, or conditions.
“Clone conforms to the shape and movement of your foot, ensuring you get the same support from the first swing to the last,” says Kyle Blakely, SVP of Innovation and Design Studio at Under Armour. “Because the material acts more like a dynamic surface than traditional textile or leather, athletes benefit from a more uniform fit, improved energy transfer, and a more stable platform throughout the round.”
First Tour Wins Already Achieved
Combined with Under Armour’s Swing Support System, the Drive Pro Clone delivers more repeatable power and boosts golfer confidence with every swing. This innovation highlights Under Armour’s commitment to meeting golfer needs through materials science, precise design, and on-course performance testing. The new shoe has already been used at numerous international tournaments, contributing to two wins on the DP World Tour: Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen claimed his first victory at the Australian Open in December, while Patrick Reed relied on the fit and performance of the Clone during his recent win at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic.
The Drive Pro Clone will be available in both spiked and spikeless models starting February 6, priced at £160/€200 for spiked and £140/€180 for spikeless versions. The shoe comes in four color variants: Black/Anthracite/Metallic Gold; Distant Grey/Midnight Navy/Metallic Silver; White/White/Metallic Gun Metal; Stone/Gridiron Brown/Metallic Gun Metal.
