With a strong team performance and a historic moment by Justin Rose, Los Angeles secures victory against New York in the Tomorrow Golf League.
On Tuesday at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, the Tomorrow Golf League (TGL) saw the New York-based Jupiter Links Golf Club (featuring Max Homa, Kevin Kisner, and Akshay Bhatia) face off against the Los Angeles Golf Club (with Justin Rose, Collin Morikawa, and Sahith Theegala). The match was highlighted by the first-ever albatross in TGL history, made by Justin Rose, which helped Los Angeles clearly win during the singles phase.
Triples Phase: Early Hammer Puts Los Angeles Ahead
In the first phase, known as Triples, Los Angeles threw the first hammer on the second hole, earning two points. Jupiter Links responded with their first hammer on the fifth hole, gaining an important point. Los Angeles then extended their lead with another point on the sixth hole. The Triples phase ended with Los Angeles leading 4-1 after Jupiter Links incurred a penalty stroke on the ninth hole.
During the Singles phase, Los Angeles surged ahead. Justin Rose started the tenth hole (a par 5) with a confident 300-meter drive on the fairway. Max Homa of New York followed with a solid, but shorter, fairway shot. Homa’s second shot landed just before the green, positioning New York well for scoring points.
Historic Moment: Justin Rose Makes TGL’s First Albatross
Justin Rose then made history on the tenth hole with a 4-iron shot from 210 meters, achieving an albatross that thrilled fans at the SoFi Center. Even Tiger Woods smiled, noting he had never scored an albatross in his career. This spectacular shot increased Los Angeles’ lead to 5-1.

Decisive Final Holes: Los Angeles Seals the Win
Los Angeles saved a hammer for the penultimate hole, which New York accepted to stay in the match. Los Angeles clinched that hole with a par by Collin Morikawa, effectively sealing the match. New York could not recover on the final hole, with the game ending 8-4 in favor of Los Angeles.
