With a strong team effort and a historic moment by Justin Rose, Los Angeles triumphs over New York in the Tomorrow Golf League.
On Tuesday at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, the Tomorrow Golf League (TGL) saw the New York Jupiter Links Golf Club (with Max Homa, Kevin Kisner, and Akshay Bhatia) take on the Los Angeles Golf Club (with Justin Rose, Collin Morikawa, and Sahith Theegala). The match was highlighted by the very first albatross in TGL history. It was only in the second phase, called Singles, that the Los Angeles Golf Club secured a clear victory.
Triples Phase: Early Hammer Puts Los Angeles Ahead
During the Triples phase, Los Angeles threw the first hammer on the second hole, earning two points. Jupiter Links responded with their own hammer on the fifth hole, gaining an important point. Los Angeles then extended their lead on the sixth hole. After the ninth hole, Los Angeles ended the Triples phase with a 4:1 lead, following a penalty stroke for Jupiter Links on the final hole.
In the Singles phase, action favored Los Angeles strongly. Justin Rose opened the tenth hole (a par 5) with a powerful 300-meter drive onto the fairway. Max Homa from New York also played a solid shot but fell short of Rose’s drive, landing just before the green, positioning New York to claw back points.
Historic Moment: Justin Rose Achieves First Albatross in TGL
Then came a historic milestone: on the tenth hole, Justin Rose hit a 4-iron from 210 meters for an albatross, electrifying fans at the SoFi Center. Even Tiger Woods smiled, admitting he had never achieved an albatross himself. This shot extended Los Angeles’s lead to 5:1.

Following holes 12 and 13, Jupiter Links fought back, gaining three points. Kevin Kisner made par on 12 after Collin Morikawa incurred a penalty. Max Homa then secured a birdie with a hammer accepted by Los Angeles, narrowing the match to 4:5 and increasing the excitement.
Final Holes Decide the Match: Los Angeles Seals the Win
Los Angeles deployed a reserved hammer on the penultimate hole, which Jupiter had to accept or be eliminated. Collin Morikawa’s par sealed the hole and the match. The New York team could not recover on the final hole, and Los Angeles won 8:4.
With this win, Los Angeles improves to a 1-1
