With a strong team effort and a historic moment by Justin Rose, the Los Angeles team defeats New York in the Tomorrow Golf League.
On Tuesday at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, the Tomorrow Golf League (TGL) match featured the New York Jupiter Links Golf Club (with Max Homa, Kevin Kisner, and Akshay Bhatia) facing off against the Los Angeles Golf Club (with Justin Rose, Collin Morikawa, and Sahith Theegala). The match was highlighted by the first-ever albatross in TGL history, achieved during the singles phase, where the Los Angeles Golf Club decisively took the lead and won.
Triples Phase: Early Hammer Puts Los Angeles Ahead
In the first phase called Triples, the Los Angeles Golf Club scored the first hammer on the second hole, gaining two points early. Jupiter Links responded with their first hammer on the fifth hole, securing an important point. Los Angeles extended their lead on the sixth hole and ended the Triples with a 4:1 lead after nine holes, benefiting from a penalty stroke on Jupiter Links’ final hole of that phase.
During the Singles phase, the momentum increased for Los Angeles. Justin Rose opened the tenth hole (Par 5) with a solid 300-meter drive. Max Homa of New York followed with a shorter yet solid shot, placing his team in a good position to recover points.
Historic Moment: Justin Rose Records TGL’s First Albatross
On the same tenth hole, Justin Rose made a remarkable shot—using a 4-iron from 210 meters—scoring an albatross that stunned the crowd at the SoFi Center. Even Tiger Woods commented, smiling that he has never achieved an albatross himself during his career. This shot further extended Los Angeles’ lead to 5:1.

Between the 12th and 13th holes, Jupiter Links rallied to gain three points. Kevin Kisner made a par on the 12th after Collin Morikawa took a penalty stroke, and Max Homa scored a birdie with an accepted hammer, bringing the score close at 4:5.
Final Holes Seal Victory for Los Angeles
Los Angeles deployed a saved hammer on the penultimate hole, which Jupiter Links accepted, preventing their elimination. Collin Morikawa’s par on this hole sealed the win, and although New York fought on, they could not gain additional points. The match concluded with an 8:4 victory for the Los Angeles Golf Club.
This win brings Los Angeles back into playoff contention with a 1-1-0 record
