TMRW Sports Announces First LPGA Players for WTGL Launch in 2026-27

The WTGL will launch in winter 2026-27. TMRW Sports announces the first LPGA Tour players set to compete in the new league.

TMRW Sports unveiled the initial group of LPGA Tour players joining WTGL, a new team golf platform in partnership with the LPGA. This global roster features World No. 1 Jeeno Thitikul from Thailand, rising English star Charley Hull, three-time Olympic medalist Lydia Ko from New Zealand, Canada’s most successful golfer Brooke Henderson, and seven-time US Solheim Cup participant Lexi Thompson.

Top Stars Spotlight WTGL

Mirroring the TGL, the WTGL will showcase some of the sport’s biggest names. The first wave of committed players highlights the league’s star-studded ambitions.

Leading the group is Jenny Thitikul, the world number one, with five LPGA Tour awards and seven wins. She has topped the rankings since August 2025 and, at just 22, is among golf’s brightest talents.

Charley Hull, ranked fifth globally, has won three LPGA events and boasts an impressive 15-9-3 record across seven Solheim Cups for Team Europe.

LPGA Hall of Famer and former world number one Lydia Ko, 28, has secured 23 LPGA Tour victories including three majors and three Olympic medals, and is also joining WTGL.

Canada’s Brooke Henderson, the country’s most successful female golfer with 14 LPGA wins including two majors, was named the fourth WTGL player by TMRW Sports.

Rounding out the inaugural group is American Lexi Thompson, 30, the 2014 Kraft Nabisco Championship winner and the second youngest major champion in LPGA history.

“WTGL Will Be a Global Stage”

Mike McCarley, founder and CEO of TMRW Sports, expressed confidence about WTGL’s future: “WTGL will be a global platform where LPGA stars shine, and this first wave of committed players represents that opportunity with some of the world’s best talents. Fans will admire their skills and connect deeply through unprecedented access provided by the league’s modern matchplay team format.”

Scheduled to start in winter 2026/27, the WTGL will feature fast-paced team matchplays at the specially built SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Building on TGL presented by SoFi’s foundation, WTGL highlights skill, personality, and team spirit with elements like microphone moments, risk-reward team decisions, and hammer throws, enhanced by technology-driven performance data and analytics seamlessly integrated into the competition. With Alex Morgan’s Trybe Ventures as lead capital partner, WTGL is TMRW Sports’ second project in partnership with the LPGA. For updates, visit WTGLGolf.com.
