The WTGL will launch in winter 2026-27 with TMRW Sports announcing the first LPGA players joining the new team golf league.
TMRW Sports has revealed the initial group of LPGA Tour players committed to WTGL, a new team golf platform in collaboration with the LPGA. This global roster includes World No. 1 Jeeno Thitikul from Thailand, rising English star Charley Hull, three-time Olympic medalist Lydia Ko from New Zealand, Canada’s most successful golfer Brooke Henderson, and seven-time US Solheim Cup participant Lexi Thompson.
Star-Studded Lineup for WTGL
Following the model of the TGL, WTGL will feature some of the sport’s top stars. The first wave of committed players already highlights this, with standout names leading the charge.
At the forefront is undoubtedly Jenny Thitikul, the world number one who has claimed five LPGA Tour awards and seven LPGA Tour victories. She has held the top spot since August 2025 and, at just 22 years old, ranks among golf’s brightest talents worldwide.
Joining her is Charley Hull, ranked fifth globally. The English player boasts three LPGA Tour wins and is known for her impressive 15-9-3 record in seven Solheim Cups representing Team Europe.
LPGA Hall of Famer and former world number one Lydia Ko will also compete in the upcoming WTGL season. The 28-year-old has earned 23 LPGA Tour wins—including three major titles—and three Olympic medals.
Canada’s Brooke Henderson is the fourth announced player. With 14 LPGA Tour victories, including two majors, she stands as the most successful Canadian golfer ever.
Rounding out the initial WTGL group is Lexi Thompson, a 30-year-old American who won the 2014 Kraft Nabisco Championship, becoming the second youngest major winner in LPGA Tour history.
\”WTGL Will Be a Global Stage\”
Mike McCarley, founder and CEO of TMRW Sports, expressed optimism about WTGL’s future: \”WTGL will be a global stage for LPGA stars to shine, and this first group of committed players represents that opportunity with some of the world’s best golfers,\” he stated. \”These players will excel in the WTGL’s competitive environment, while fans can admire their skills and connect more deeply with their personalities through unprecedented access provided by the modern matchplay team format.\”
Slated to begin in winter 2026/27, WTGL will offer a season of fast-paced team matchplays at the newly built SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. As a showcase for the talent, personalities, and team spirit of participating LPGA stars, WTGL builds on the foundation of TGL presented by SoFi. Along with core TGL features like mic moments, risk-reward team decisions, and hammer throws, WTGL uses the same technology-enabled platform delivering comprehensive shot performance data and statistic-based analysis seamlessly integrated into competition. With Alex Morgan’s Trybe Ventures as lead capital partner, WTGL is TMRW Sports’ second project and partners with the LPGA
