The WTGL will launch in winter 2026-27. TMRW Sports announces the first LPGA Tour players set to compete next winter.
TMRW Sports has revealed the initial group of LPGA Tour players committed to the WTGL, a new team golf platform in partnership with the LPGA. The global roster features World No. 1 Jeen-Yu Thitikul from Thailand, rising English star Charley Hull, three-time Olympic medalist Lydia Ko from New Zealand, Canada’s most successful golfer Brooke Henderson, and seven-time U.S. Solheim Cup player Lexi Thompson.
Star Power in the WTGL
Like the TGL, the WTGL will showcase some of the top stars of the sport, as reflected by the impressive first wave of signees. Leading the group is undoubtedly Jeen-Yu Thitikul, the world number one who has already claimed five LPGA Tour awards and seven wins. She has topped the world rankings since August 2025 and, at just 22 years old, is among the sport’s brightest talents.
Also joining next year is Charley Hull. The Englishwoman, ranked 5th globally, has won three LPGA Tour events and boasts an outstanding record of 15-9-3 across seven Solheim Cups for Team Europe. LPGA Hall of Famer and former world number one Lydia Ko will also be part of the WTGL. At 28, Ko has secured 23 LPGA Tour victories, including three majors, along with three Olympic medals.
Canadian Brooke Henderson, the most successful golfer in her country’s history with 14 LPGA wins including two majors, is the fourth player announced by TMRW Sports. Finally, Lexi Thompson, a 30-year-old American who won the 2014 Kraft Nabisco Championship and was the second youngest major winner in LPGA history, rounds out the initial group.
\”The WTGL Will Be a Global Stage\”
Mike McCarley, founder and CEO of TMRW Sports, expressed great confidence after the announcement: \”The WTGL will be a global stage where LPGA stars can shine. This first group of committed players represents that opportunity with some of the world’s best athletes,\” he said. \”These players will excel in the WTGL’s competitive environment while fans admire their skills and build a deeper connection through unprecedented access offered by the league’s modern matchplay team format.\”
Set to debut in winter 2026/27, the WTGL will deliver a fast-paced team matchplay season at the purpose-built SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. As a showcase for the talent, personalities, and teamwork of participating LPGA stars, the WTGL builds upon the foundation of TGL presented by SoFi. In addition to TGL’s key elements like mic moments, risk-reward team decisions, and the hammer throw, the WTGL offers the same tech-driven platform with comprehensive shot performance data and stats integrated seamlessly into competition. With Alex Morgan’s Trybe Ventures as lead capital partner, WTGL is TMRW Sports’ second project in partnership with the LPGA. More details will be announced
