TaylorMade Qi4D Driver: Four Models for Speed and Versatility

TaylorMade launches the new Qi4D driver with four models focused on maximum speed and compatibility. Discover the details behind the faster driver.

TaylorMade introduces the Qi4D drivers with fresh momentum and speed. Designed for maximum velocity, the new models impress with high aerodynamic efficiency and extensive adjustability. Four different models cover various playing and swing types.

New Faces and Aerodynamic Refinements of the Qi4D Driver

The Qi4D drivers are TaylorMade’s fastest and most adaptable drivers to date. They feature newly developed carbon faces that provide more efficient ball speed compared to titanium, while also being more durable and robust. Improved roll radii on the face help reduce spin rate deviations, regardless of whether the ball is hit high or low on the face.

An advanced Cut-Through Speed Pocket™, designed using finite element analysis (FEA), increases flexibility in the lower face area. This creates an extended high-performance zone that stabilizes ball speed in typical impact zones. This is complemented by a corrective face curvature. Aerodynamics of the heads have also been maximized with finely tuned shapes, smooth transitions, and subtly integrated structures to support clean airflow throughout the swing.

TaylorMade Qi4D Driver: Customization via Shafts and Adjustment Systems

A key feature of the Qi4D series is its high level of customization. All models come equipped with a 4° loft sleeve that allows adjustments to loft, lie angle, and face angle.

Additionally, specially developed REAX shafts are used. These shafts are designed for three different swing characteristics (Hold, Balance, and Active) and are available in various flex and weight categories. This enables tailoring the standard shafts to fit different player types precisely.

Model Overview: Four Drivers with Distinct Focuses

Qi4D

The base model uses a four-weight system with movable TAS weights (9 g x 2 / 4 g x 2). Depending on positioning, it can influence ball speed, stability, forgiveness, and draw or fade tendencies. Heavier weights in the front encourage higher ball speeds, while rear placement provides more stability.

Qi4D LS

The Qi4D LS focuses on maximum speed and especially low spin. Using numerical flow simulations, its head shape was aerodynamically optimized to ensure smooth airflow and clean separation at the clubhead’s trailing edge. Two TAS weights (15 g and 4 g) allow precise adjustment of spin and ball flight.

Qi4D Max

The Qi4D Max prioritizes forgiveness without sacrificing speed. Using aluminum reduces weight and provides additional adjustment options. Two movable TAS weights (13 g and 4 g) enable flexible center of gravity shifting between more ball speed or increased stability.

Qi4D Max Lite

The Qi4D Max Lite applies the technologies of the Max model but focuses on a consistently lightweight design. Head, shaft, and grip are the lightest
