TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next-Gen Game Improvement Irons

The new TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons deliver distance, forgiveness, and design in a complete package. Details on the latest game-improvement irons.

TaylorMade introduces the new Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons, representing a new generation of game-improvement irons focused on performance gains in distance, forgiveness, sound, and feel, covering both playing needs and aesthetics.

TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next Generation Game-Improvement Irons

A key development aspect was the clubface design. Typically asymmetrical with a higher toe than heel, many game-improvement irons tend to deform unevenly on impact, causing extra cut-spin and shots drifting right when struck towards the toe. The Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons feature a clubface engineered to bend more evenly, resulting in more stable ball launches and straighter ball flights with high ball speed.

Sound, Feel, and Internal Improvements

Beyond pure performance, feel was crucial. Both models include a sound stabilization bar connecting the backbar to the topline, stabilizing it and reducing unwanted impact noises. Additionally, the ECHO damping system material is positioned higher in the clubface to reduce vibrations while maintaining desirable feedback. Custom optimized clubfaces and new internal structures further support speed and consistent distance.

Two Designs for Different Player Types

The Qi Max irons target players seeking distance and forgiveness in a relatively compact design, featuring thinner toplines, shorter blade lengths, and reduced offset with seamless hosel transitions. Using FLTD CG, the center of gravity in long irons is set low for higher launch and strong stopping power, while it shifts upward in short irons to aid distance control. Speed Pocket technology in irons 4 through 8 maintains ball speed on low strikes.

The Qi Max HL irons prioritize maximum forgiveness with larger clubheads, higher clubfaces, and thicker soles and toplines for greater stability and confidence. Their lofts are 3° weaker than the Qi Max, combined with ultra-light heads, shafts, and grips, especially benefiting players with slower swing speeds, enhancing clubhead speed, launch height, and stopping ability.

New Design for Qi Max and Qi Max HL Irons

Both irons showcase a bright, monochromatic design inspired by the P-Series. Available as steel versions at 183 euros per iron and graphite shafts at 200 euros per iron, pre-orders start January 8, 2026, with availability in stores from January 29, 2026.
