TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next-Gen Game-Improvement Irons

The new TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons combine distance, forgiveness, and design. Discover the details of these game-improvement irons.

TaylorMade presents the new Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons, introducing a new generation of game-improvement clubs focused on enhancing distance, forgiveness, sound, and feel, catering to both performance and aesthetic needs.

TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next Generation of Game-Improvement Irons

A key development aspect was the clubface design. Traditionally, game-improvement irons have asymmetrical faces with a higher toe than heel, leading to uneven deformation upon impact that can cause additional cut spin and shots veering right. The Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons feature a face engineered to bend more uniformly, resulting in more stable ball launches and straighter trajectories with high ball speed.

Sound, Feel, and Internal Optimizations

Beyond performance, feel was crucial in development. Both models incorporate a sound stabilization bar connecting the rear bar to the topline, stabilizing the topline and reducing unwanted impact noises. Additionally, the ECHO damping system material was repositioned higher in the face, reducing vibrations and delivering a solid sound without sacrificing feedback at impact. Individually optimized faces and new internal structures support enhanced speed and consistent distance.

Two Designs for Different Player Types

The Qi Max irons target players seeking distance and forgiveness in a relatively compact design with thinner toplines, shorter blade lengths, and reduced offset where the head transitions seamlessly into the hosel. The FLTD CG technology positions the center of gravity low in long irons to enable high launch with good stopping power, while raising it in short irons for improved distance control. Speed Pocket technology in irons 4 to 8 maintains ball speed on low-face strikes.

The Qi Max HL irons focus on maximum forgiveness with larger head profiles, higher faces, thicker soles, and toplines that enhance stability and confidence. Their lofts are 3° weaker than the Qi Max, combined with ultralight heads, shafts, and grips, benefiting players with slower swing speeds by improving clubhead speed, launch height, and stopping ability.

New Design for Qi Max and Qi Max HL Irons

Both iron models feature a bright, monochromatic design inspired by the P-Series. They are available in steel for 183 euros per club and graphite for 200 euros per club. Pre-orders start January 8, 2026, with availability in stores from January 29, 2026.
