TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next-Gen Game-Improvement Irons

The new TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons offer distance, forgiveness, and design. Discover the details of these game-improvement irons.

TaylorMade introduces the new Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons, representing a new generation of game-improvement clubs designed for enhanced distance, forgiveness, sound, and feel, while also addressing aesthetic preferences.

TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: The Next Generation of Game-Improvement Irons

A key development focus was on the clubface. Many game-improvement irons tend to deform unevenly at impact due to their asymmetrical design with a higher toe than heel, causing shots struck near the toe to spin and veer right. The Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons feature a clubface engineered to bend more uniformly, resulting in more stable ball flights, straighter trajectories, and higher ball speeds.

Sound, Feel, and Internal Enhancements

Beyond performance, feel was a critical aspect. Both models include a sound-stabilizing bar connecting the rear bar to the topline, which stabilizes the topline and reduces unwanted impact noises. Additionally, the ECHO damping system material has been positioned higher in the clubface to reduce vibrations and provide a firmer sound without sacrificing impact feedback. Customized clubfaces and new internal structures further enhance speed and distance consistency.

Two Options for Different Player Types

The Qi Max irons cater to players seeking distance and forgiveness in a relatively compact design, featuring thinner toplines, shorter blade lengths, and reduced offset with a seamless transition into the hosel. With FLTD CG technology, the center of gravity in long irons is positioned low to enable high launch and good stopping power, while it shifts higher in short irons for better distance control. The Speed Pocket in irons 4 through 8 maintains ball speeds on lower strikes.

Conversely, the Qi Max HL irons are optimized for maximum forgiveness, with larger clubheads, higher faces, and thicker soles and toplines to boost stability and confidence. The lofts are 3° weaker than the Qi Max, combined with ultralight heads, shafts, and grips, making them ideal for players with slower swing speeds by enhancing clubhead speed, launch height, and stopping ability.

Fresh Design for Qi Max and Qi Max HL Irons

Both models showcase a bright, monochromatic design inspired by the P-Series. Available in steel for 183 EUR per iron and graphite shafts for 200 EUR per iron, pre-orders open on January 8, 2026, with availability from January 29, 2026, at retailers.
