The new TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons offer distance, forgiveness, and sleek design in a complete game-improvement package.
TaylorMade introduces the new Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons, a new generation of game-improvement clubs focused on enhancing distance, forgiveness, sound, and feel while also addressing aesthetic preferences.
TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next Generation of Game-Improvement Irons
A key development was the clubface, which is asymmetrically designed with a higher toe than heel, often causing uneven deformation on impact leading to additional cut-spin and shots veering right. The Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons feature a clubface engineered to flex more evenly, resulting in more stable ball launches and straighter ball flights with high ball speed.
Sound, Feel, and Internal Enhancements
Beyond pure performance, feel was crucial. Both models include a sound-stabilizing bar connecting the back bar to the topline, stabilizing the topline and reducing unwanted impact noises.
The ECHO damping system material has been extended higher into the clubface to reduce vibrations and produce a solid sound without losing impact feedback. Individually optimized clubfaces and new internal structures further improve speed and consistent distance.
Two Options for Different Player Types
The Qi Max irons target players seeking distance and forgiveness in a relatively compact design featuring thinner toplines, shorter blade length, and less offset with the head seamlessly transitioning into the hosel. Using FLTD CG, the center of gravity is lower in long irons for high launch and good stopping power, shifting higher in short irons to aid distance control. From irons 4 to 8, the Speed Pocket maintains ball speed on low-impact hits.
The Qi Max HL irons emphasize maximum forgiveness with a larger clubhead, higher faces, wider soles, and thicker toplines to enhance stability and confidence. The lofts are 3° weaker compared to the Qi Max, combined with ultralight heads, shafts, and grips, benefiting players with slower swing speeds by improving clubhead speed, launch height, and stopping ability.
New Design Inspired by P-Series
Both models feature a bright, monochrome design inspired by the P-Series. Available in steel at €183 per iron and graphite shafts at €200 per iron, pre-orders begin on January 8, 2026, with availability in stores from January 29, 2026.
