The new TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons offer distance, forgiveness, and design in a complete package. Details on the latest game-improvement irons.
TaylorMade introduces the new Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons, a new generation of game-improvement irons designed for enhanced distance, forgiveness, feel, and sound, while also meeting aesthetic demands.
TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: The Next Generation of Game-Improvement Irons
A key development aspect was the clubface. Traditionally asymmetrical with a higher toe than heel, many game-improvement irons tend to deform unevenly at impact, causing cut-spin and shots drifting right. The Qi Max and Qi Max HL have clubfaces engineered to bend more uniformly, resulting in more stable ball launches and straighter flight paths with high ball speed.
Sound, Feel, and Internal Enhancements
Besides performance, feel was critical. Both models feature a sound-stabilizing bar connecting the back bar to the top edge, which stabilizes the top edge and reduces unwanted noise at impact.
The ECHO damping system material has been further extended higher in the clubface, reducing vibrations and producing a solid sound without sacrificing feedback. Individually optimized clubfaces and new internal structures further support speed and consistent distance.
Two Options for Different Player Types
The Qi Max irons target players seeking distance and forgiveness in a relatively compact design with thinner top lines, shorter blade lengths, and less offset. Using FLTD CG, the center of gravity is low in long irons for higher launch and stopping power, shifting higher in short irons to aid distance control. A Speed Pocket in irons 4–8 maintains ball speed on low hits.
The Qi Max HL irons prioritize maximum forgiveness with larger heads, higher faces, and wider soles and top lines to boost stability and confidence. With 3° weaker lofts than Qi Max and ultra-light heads, shafts, and grips, they benefit players with slower swing speeds, enhancing clubhead speed, launch height, and stopping ability equally.
New Design for Qi Max and Qi Max HL Irons
Both models feature a bright, monochromatic design inspired by the P-Series. Available in steel at €183 and graphite shafts at €200 per iron. Pre-orders start January 8, 2026, with retail availability from January 29, 2026.
