The new TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons offer distance, forgiveness, and design in a complete package for golfers.
TaylorMade presents the new Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons, representing the next generation of game-improvement irons focused on enhancing distance, forgiveness, sound, and feel, while also covering aesthetic aspects.
TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next Generation Game-Improvement Irons
A key development factor was the clubface. Many game-improvement irons tend to deform unevenly at impact due to an asymmetrical construction with a higher toe than heel, causing additional cut spin and shots veering right when struck near the toe. The Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons feature a clubface designed to bend more evenly, resulting in more stable ball launches and straighter ball flight with high ball speed.
Sound, Feel, and Internal Optimizations
Beyond pure performance, feel was a major consideration. Both models incorporate a sound-stabilizing bar connecting the back bar to the topline to stabilize the topline and reduce unwanted impact noises.
The ECHO damping system material has also been shifted upwards in the clubface to reduce vibrations and deliver a solid sound without losing necessary feedback at impact. Individually optimized clubfaces and new internal structures further aid speed and consistent distance.
Two Options for Different Player Types
The Qi Max irons target players seeking distance and forgiveness in a relatively compact design with thinner toplines, shorter blade lengths, and less offset by blending the hosel seamlessly into the head. FLTD CG technology places a low center of gravity in longer irons for higher launch and strong stopping power, shifting higher in shorter irons to support distance control. From irons 4 to 8, the Speed Pocket maintains stable ball speeds on low strikes.
The Qi Max HL irons focus on maximum forgiveness with larger head profiles, higher clubfaces, and thicker soles and toplines for increased stability and confidence. The lofts are 3° weaker than the Qi Max, combined with ultra-lightweight heads, shafts, and grips, benefiting players with slower swing speeds by boosting clubhead speed, launch, and stopping ability equally.
New Design for Qi Max and Qi Max HL Irons
Both models feature a bright, monochrome design inspired by the P-Series. Available in steel at 183 euros per iron and graphite shafts at 200 euros per iron. Pre-orders start January 8, 2026, with availability from January 29, 2026.
