The new TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons offer a complete package focused on distance, forgiveness, and design for game improvement.
TaylorMade introduces the new Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons, a new generation of game-improvement irons designed to enhance performance in distance, forgiveness, feel, and sound while also addressing aesthetic needs.
TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next-Generation Game-Improvement Irons
A key development aspect was the clubface design. Traditionally, the clubface is asymmetrical with a higher toe than heel, which can cause uneven deformation on impact leading to cut-spin and shots drifting right. The Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons feature a clubface engineered to bend more uniformly, resulting in straighter ball flights and consistent ball speeds.
Sound, Feel and Internal Enhancements
Both models integrate a sound stabilizing bar connecting the back bar with the topline to reduce unwanted noises on impact while stabilizing the topline. Additionally, the ECHO damping system material has been positioned higher in the clubface to minimize vibrations, producing a solid sound without sacrificing feedback at impact. Tailored clubfaces and new internal structures support enhanced speed and consistent distance.
Two Models for Different Player Needs
The Qi Max irons target players seeking a compact design with distance and forgiveness, featuring thinner toplines, shorter blade lengths, and reduced offset with heads seamlessly blending into the hosel. Using FLTD CG, the center of gravity is positioned low in long irons for a high launch and good stopping power, shifting higher in short irons for better distance control. The Speed Pocket in irons 4 through 8 ensures stable ball speeds on lower strikes.
The Qi Max HL irons focus on maximum forgiveness with larger clubheads, higher faces, wider soles, and thicker toplines to boost confidence and stability. Their lofts are 3° weaker than the Qi Max, combined with ultra-light heads, shafts, and grips to aid players with slower swing speeds, enhancing clubhead speed, launch height, and stopping ability.
Fresh Design and Availability
Both irons come in a bright, monochrome design inspired by the P-Series. Available in steel at €183 per iron and graphite shafts at €200 per iron, pre-orders start January 8, 2026, with in-store availability from January 29, 2026.
