TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next-Gen Game-Improvement Irons

Discover the new TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons, designed for distance, forgiveness, and sleek design.

TaylorMade presents the new Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons, a new generation of game-improvement irons focused on enhanced distance, forgiveness, sound, and feel while also addressing aesthetic aspects.

TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next-Generation Game-Improvement Irons

A key development was the clubface design. Due to its asymmetrical shape, with a higher toe than heel, many game-improvement irons tend to deform unevenly on impact. This can cause cut spin and shots that slice right when struck near the toe. The Qi Max and Qi Max HL feature a clubface engineered to bend more evenly, resulting in more stable ball launches and straighter ball flights combined with high ball speed.

Sound, Feel, and Internal Enhancements

Besides performance, impact feel was important. Both models integrate a sound stabilization bar connecting the back bar with the top edge, stabilizing the top edge and reducing unwanted noise at impact.

The ECHO damping material was positioned higher in the clubface to reduce vibrations and produce a solid sound without sacrificing impact feedback. Optimized clubfaces and new internal structures further support speed and consistent distance.

Two Designs for Different Player Types

The Qi Max irons target players seeking distance and forgiveness within a relatively compact design, featuring thinner top edges, shorter blades, and less offset with a seamless hosel transition. Utilizing FLTD CG, the center of gravity is positioned very low in long irons to promote high launch and stopping power, while it raises in short irons to enhance distance control. The Speed Pocket in irons 4 to 8 maintains ball speed on low strikes.

The Qi Max HL irons emphasize maximum forgiveness with a larger head profile, taller faces, and stronger soles and top edges, boosting stability and confidence. Their lofts are 3° weaker than the Qi Max, combined with ultra-light heads, shafts, and grips ideal for slower swing speeds. This improves clubhead speed, launch height, and stopping ability equally.

New Design and Availability

Both models sport a bright, monochrome design inspired by the P-Series. Available in steel shafts at 183 EUR per iron and graphite shafts at 200 EUR per iron, pre-orders start January 8, 2026, with availability from January 29, 2026.
