A bronze statue of golf legend Severiano \”Seve\” Ballesteros has disappeared from his hometown. Authorities are investigating the theft.
The life-size bronze statue, erected in 2009, went missing in Pedrena, the Spanish village of Ballesteros’ birth in Cantabria. Spanish authorities launched investigations after the town council of the larger municipality Marina de Cudeyo announced on Instagram that the \”unfortunate event\” over the weekend suggested the bronze statue had been stolen. The municipal council asked the public for help in the investigation: \”If anyone noticed suspicious movements, especially in the last 24 hours, please inform the Guardia Civil or the local police directly.\”
