A bronze statue of golf legend Severiano ‘Seve’ Ballesteros has disappeared from his hometown, with authorities investigating the theft.
The life-size bronze statue of Spanish golf legend Severiano ‘Seve’ Ballesteros, erected in 2009, has vanished from his hometown of Pedrena in the Cantabria region of Spain. Spanish authorities launched an investigation after the city council of the larger municipality Marina de Cudeyo announced on Instagram that the ‘unfortunate incident’ over the weekend indicated the statue had been stolen. The council urged the public to assist: ‘If anyone has observed suspicious activity, especially in the last 24 hours, please inform the Guardia Civil or local police directly.’
