Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen wins the Australian Open wearing Under Armour Golf shoes and secures a spot at the 2026 Masters.
It all came down to a three-meter putt. Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen held his nerve on the 18th green at Royal Melbourne Golf Club to claim his first DP World Tour victory at the Australian Open. With the win, the Danish golfer also earned a coveted invitation to the 2026 Masters. Notably, he achieved this milestone wearing a prototype shoe not yet available to the public: the Drive Pro Clone by Under Armour Golf.
Under Armour Golf technology meets custom fit
According to Under Armour Golf, the Drive Pro Clone was first introduced to Neergaard-Petersen after an in-depth fitting session at the brand’s Performance Centre in Stoke Park. Led by Richard Palmer-Jones, the team analyzed the golfer’s movement patterns and pressure distribution to determine the optimal footwear. The result was a customized shoe solution, with the Drive Pro Clone emerging as the top choice. The shoe is designed to maximize stability and traction through a performance-optimized system.
Since debuting the Clone at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, Neergaard-Petersen has made it a staple in his gear. Under Armour Golf has confirmed a long-term partnership with the Danish player. “From the very first test, it was clear Clone was the right fit for him,” said Palmer-Jones.
