The second round of the PGA Tour’s Corales Puntacana Championship is taking the golf world by storm, as players compete at the Puntacana Resort & Club on the Corales Golf Course located in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

As of the latest leaderboard update, Wesley Bryan from the USA holds the first position with a total score of -15. Justin Lower, also from the USA, is currently in the second position with a total score of -14. Third place is occupied by Greyson Sigg, who, with a total score of -11, is holding his own in the competition. Bill Haas, Kevin Tway, Charley Hoffman, and Pierceson Coody are tied for the fourth spot, each with a total score of -10.

Impressively, Justin Lower, Nico Echavarria, and Chad Ramey each posted a daily score of -8, making them the top performers of the day.

The Corales Puntacana Championship, part of the illustrious PGA Tour, has a prize fund of $4,000,000.

The PGA Tour continued with the renowned RBC Heritage tournament, hosted at the esteemed Harbour Town Golf Links located on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, United States. The tournament brought together an illustrious list of players vying for the substantial prize money of $20,000,000.

At this stage of the tournament, the leaderboard highlights for round four are incredibly tight. The total score sees players Tom Hoge (USA), Collin Morikawa (USA), Sepp Straka (AUT), and J.T. On the picturesque island of Maui, surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, lies the small town of Lahaina. Amidst this backdrop is a golf course that is not only a dream location for golf lovers, but also a symbol of a community’s strength and determination in the face of tragedy. In the new season of Adventures in Golf, Erik Anders Lang tells the story of Kapalua – a golf course in the place that was the scene of the deadliest wildfire disaster in America in the century.

Maui devastated by forest fire

In August 2023, images of the devastating forest fires on Maui, which almost completely destroyed some places on the island, went around the world. Lang, who usually visits the golf courses directly on his travels, first meets Archie, a local leader and water activist who was one of the first to take a stand against the fire. “The reason for this fire was a lack of water,” he explains. Kapalua and the surrounding communities were threatened by the dry heat of the fire. Now Archie and his fellow campaigners are working to reclaim the water they so desperately needed. Steve Sims, a former Air Force veteran and lover of Hawaiian culture, whom Lang meets next, has also joined the fight. Together they are now working to restore the island’s water sources and bring the vital rivers and streams back to life.

Adventures in Golf: The history of golf in Kapalua

One of the most fascinating personalities in Kapalua’s history is golf legend Arnold Palmer. Palmer played a crucial role in the development of the Kapalua Golf Course in its early days. His dedication and passion for the game was instrumental in making Kapalua the renowned golf destination it is today. Mark Raling, a legend in the golf commentary circuit, has also been instrumental in shaping the history of golf on Maui. Among other things, Raling was the tournament director of the first international tournament on the golf course, the Kapalua International. Since the early days of the event, which began in the 1980s, the golf course has had a long tradition of top-class competitions. One of the most famous tournaments is the annual Tournament of Champions, formerly known as The Plantation Course Championship. This event marks the official start of the PGA Tour season and attracts the best golfers in the world. In the video, Raling recalls the humble beginnings of Kapalua Golf Course in the 1970s. “We basically started from nothing and built this little community,” he says.

The importance of Kapalua extends far beyond golf. After the devastating fire, the resort opened its doors to those who had lost everything. Harrison Delgado, Director of Room Operations at the Ritz Carlton, right on the golf course, remembers the emotional time after the fire. “The tables were covered with blankets and pillows, and it was a free space for anyone who needed help,” he says. “It was about supporting each other in a time of need and being a community.” Despite the tragedy and loss, Kapalua has shown amazing resilience. Tanata, principal of a local school, proudly recounts how the school reopened just three weeks after the fire, providing a stable environment for the children. “Our school is more than just an educational institution,” she says, “it’s a place of hope and cohesion that helps the children get through the difficult times.”

Luxury Italian golf fashion brand Duca del Cosma has today announced the signing of LPGA Tour players Jasmine Suwannapura and Polly Mack to wear its latest premium handcrafted golf shoes on a global basis from this week. The new members of Team Duca will all be seen wearing the latest styles at The Chevron Championship in Texas this week and they join a growing list of Tour ambassadors that includes Major Winner and Solheim Cup star Georgia Hall, fellow LPGA Tour golfer Kelly Tan, plus six-time DP World Tour winner Joost Luiten and Dutch Tour professional Daan Huizing.

Duca del Cosma signs two LPGA Tour Players

Promising talent Polly Mack turned pro two years ago after an impressive Amateur career that saw her represent the University of Alabama Crimson Tide women’s golf team between 2019 and 2022. The 24-year-old German went on to secure both her LPGA Tour and LET cards in an impressive rookie season where she achieved a T3 finish at the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational with an top scoring average of 65 over four rounds. Mack has also chosen to wear the chic Giordana shoe during her busy playing schedule.

Duca del Cosma supports Korn Ferry Tour players

The brand will also be supporting American Evan Harmeling on the Korn Ferry Tour for the forthcoming season as he looks to secure his playing rights on the PGA Tour for next year. Harmeling captured the Savannah Golf Championship in 2022 to secure his first Tour victory and more recently finished T10 at the Puerto Rico Open in March. Drewitt has two professional wins to his name including most recently the Lincoln Land Championship presented by LRS in 2020, while Harmeling captured the Savannah Golf Championship in the same year to secure his first Tour victory. “Evan is making great strides in his playing career and we’re delighted to play a part in his journey. We can’t wait to see even more Duca del Cosma shoes being worn on Tour this year and we’ll be rooting for Team Duca each week,” added van Wezel.
