Major winner Nelly Korda is divided about the new Women’s Tomorrow Golf League, criticizing the concept and leaving her participation open.
The Tomorrow Golf League (TGL) announced at the beginning of this year its expansion plans to integrate the LPGA Tour by late 2026, forming the new Women’s Tomorrow Golf League (WTGL) featuring top LPGA players. While the WTGL revealed initial participants like world number one Jeenokthitikul from Thailand, triple Olympic medalist Lydia Ko from New Zealand, and seven-time US Solheim Cup player Lexi Thompson from the USA, the two-time major and Olympic champion Nelly Korda has not yet been named among them.
Nelly Korda Shares Critical View on WTGL
On Tuesday, during a practice session at the Lake Nona Golf and Country Club in Orlando, Florida, Korda spoke to Golfweek about the newly founded league. She expressed mixed feelings, criticizing the TGL by saying, ‘I’m surprised no other players have spoken out. It’s truly a shame we don’t play alongside men. There’s no better way to advance golf, and it would have been revolutionary. I believe it would’ve been the first time men and women stood on the same course competing for the same prize money. But I also think it’s great that we have this opportunity. Those are my mixed feelings.’
Korda also suggested it might have been better to integrate one woman into existing men’s teams instead of creating a separate women’s version of the TGL. She mentioned many LPGA peers share similar views.
More Players Join WTGL: Zhang and Woad Commit
Recently, WTGL announced two additional signings for its indoor league starting late 2026: Rose Zhang and Lottie Woad, who will compete in the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The 27-year-old Korda stated in a press conference that she is still considering participation, ‘I am still weighing the time commitment. I haven’t given it much thought because I’m fully focused on preparing for the season. Logistically, there’s still much to be clarified, so I will assess my options soon.’
The Tomorrow Golf League was co-founded by career Grand Slam winners Rory McIlroy from Northern Ireland and Tiger Woods from the United States, along with former NBC Sports manager Mike McCarley. The league’s innovative men’s indoor second season started on December 28, 2025, broadcasting live on Sky.
