Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Returns Immediately to PGA Tour

First start at Farmers, Vijay Singh aims for a comeback, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion remains connected to the competing circuit but needs more family time, according to amicable agreement, says LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka, known as a competitor who thrives in top-level contests, was less motivated in LIV. He switched in 2022 to secure retirement earnings amid injury concerns. Questions remain whether he had to buy out his contract or repay guarantees, and if he still owns his LIV team Smash GC, with Talor Gooch as new captain.

Speculation grows on where Koepka will play next: DP World Tour, where he might have immediate eligibility, possibly with a penalty? Or the PGA Tour, where he has a one-year suspension from his last LIV appearance, softened from a lifetime ban. Why be vengeful when every high-profile LIV returnee benefits the PGA Tour, which wields the greater influence? ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, not extended post-2022.
