Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Immediately Back on PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to compete again, Charley Hull soon launching a YouTube channel. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn for the 2026 LIV Golf League season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka, a competitive type who performs best under top-level sports challenges, found limited motivation at LIV. He primarily joined LIV in 2022 due to injuries threatening his career and to secure a solid retirement fund. His waiver of the last contractual playing year is not surprising, though questions remain about buyouts or paybacks. Will the 35-year-old remain owner of LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch?

Speculation is rife about which tour Koepka will compete on next – the DP World Tour where he would be immediately eligible possibly with penalties, or the PGA Tour where he must serve a one-year suspension since his last LIV event. The lifetime suspensions imposed by former Commissioner Jay Monahan have been considerably softened. Returning prominent LIV players like Koepka strengthen the established PGA Tour. Recently, ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which was not renewed after 2022, to be reinstated as a player.
