Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Immediately Back on PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh is eager to compete again, Charley Hull soon launching on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected: Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will remain connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family. LIV CEO Scott McNeil stated this was a mutual agreement. Koepka is known as a competitor who gets highly motivated and fired up only in top-level competition, which was limited for him in LIV. His move to LIV in 2022 was mainly driven by injury concerns and securing a solid retirement fund. Thus, skipping the last contracted season is not surprising, although questions remain about buyouts or paybacks. At 35, he remains the owner of LIV team Smash GC, which has appointed Talor Gooch as captain.

Speculations arise on where Koepka will play next: the DP World Tour, potentially with a penalty? Or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension following his last LIV event, with previous lifetime bans softened? Returning LIV players, especially prominent ones, benefit the PGA Tour significantly. ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which had lapsed post-2022.
