Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Immediately Back on PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to compete again, Charley Hull soon launching her own YouTube channel. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family. This was reportedly amicably agreed upon, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. However, Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, which he found limited in LIV. His move there in 2022 was mainly due to an injury-plagued career and the desire for a solid retirement fund. Thus, skipping his final contractual season is not surprising, although questions remain about possible buyouts or salary repayments. He reportedly remains owner of his LIV team Smash GC, with Talor Gooch now captain.

Speculation abounds about which tours Koepka will play on next. Immediate eligibility exists with the DP World Tour—potentially subject to penalties—or the PGA Tour, where he serves a one-year suspension after his last LIV appearance, modified from previously lifetime bans. Notably, returning LIV players, especially prominent names, benefit the PGA Tour’s competitive and marketing interests. According to ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the playing field.
