Membership Renewed Without Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour

First start at the Farmers, Vijay Singh ready for another shot, Charley Hull launching on YouTube soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the LIV Golf League for the 2026 season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion will remain connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time. This was reportedly amicably agreed upon, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is known as a competitive type who thrives in top-level competition, which he only partially found in LIV. He initially joined LIV in 2022 primarily due to injury concerns and to secure a retirement fund. The decision not to play the final contracted season raises questions about buyouts or partial repayment of guaranteed fees, and whether he remains an owner of his LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation abounds about which tours Koepka will appear on next. He would be immediately eligible to play on the DP World Tour, likely with a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension from his last LIV event after previous lifetime bans by former commissioner Jay Monahan were softened. Why be vindictive when every LIV returnee, especially a prominent one, benefits the established tours wielding more power? ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reports Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which was not renewed after 2022.
