Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on the PGA Tour Immediately

First start at the Farmers, Vijay Singh returns, Charley Hull’s new YouTube channel. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting on February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family. LIV CEO Scott McNeil officially stated this amicable agreement. Koepka is a competitor who thrives in top-level competition, something he found limited at LIV. He initially joined LIV in 2022 partly due to injury concerns and to secure a solid retirement fund. It is not surprising he waived the final contract year, though questions remain about buyout conditions and if he remains owner of his LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation grows about where Koepka will play next. The DP World Tour could grant immediate eligibility, possibly with a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension since his last LIV event after previously lifetime bans were softened. The PGA Tour’s approach favors reintegration of LIV returnees, especially prominent ones. According to ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and re-enter the player ranks.
