Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Returns to the PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh determined to compete again, Charley Hull soon launching on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has reportedly withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season, which begins February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion intends to remain connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family. This amicable agreement was officially announced by LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitive type who thrives on high-level competition, something he only partially found in LIV. He initially joined LIV in 2022 mainly to secure a retirement fund amid injury concerns. Thus, the decision to forego the final contract year is not surprising, though questions remain about any buyout or repayment of guarantees. It is also unclear whether the 35-year-old remains an owner of his LIV team Smash GC, which has appointed Talor Gooch as captain.

Speculation continues about which tours Koepka might appear on next. Eligible immediately for the DP World Tour, possibly subject to penalty? Or on the PGA Tour, where he would face a one-year suspension after his last LIV start, though lifetime bans imposed by former Commissioner Jay Monahan have been reduced. It seems less grudging to welcome LIV returnees, especially high-profile players, as they boost the PGA Tour’s leverage. According to ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which was not renewed after 2022, and to be reinstated as a player.
