Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start at the Farmers, Vijay Singh aims for a comeback, Charley Hull to launch YouTube channel soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the LIV Golf League 2026 season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will remain connected to the competing circuit but needs more time for family. This friendly agreement was announced by LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, something he only partially found at LIV. He switched in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns about ending his career and to secure a good retirement fund. Given that, his skipping the final contracted season is not surprising, though questions remain about possible buyouts or partial paybacks. He remains owner of the LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Much speculation surrounds which tours Koepka will play on next—DP World Tour where he’s immediately eligible, possibly with a penalty, or PGA Tour where he faces a one-year suspension from his last LIV appearance, though lifetime bans by former Commissioner Jay Monahan have been significantly softened. Why hold grudges when every returning LIV player benefits the longer-established PGA Tour? ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reports Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and be reinstated as a player.
