Membership renewed with no ban: Koepka returns immediately to PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh aims for a comeback, Charley Hull launching on YouTube soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the competing circuit but wants more time for his family. The mutually friendly agreement was announced by LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka, known as a competitor who fires up for top-level challenges, was only partially motivated at LIV. He switched in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns and to secure a solid retirement fund. His skipping the final contract year raises questions about buyouts or salary repayments. He remains the owner of LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation grows on which tour fairways Koepka will join. The DP World Tour would grant immediate eligibility, possibly with a penalty, while the PGA Tour imposes a one-year suspension that has been softened from lifetime bans by the former commissioner. Why be vindictive when every LIV returnee benefits the dominant tour? ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reports Koepka formally applied last Friday to reinstate his PGA Tour membership post-2022.
