Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First tee already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh making a comeback, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will remain connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time. LIV CEO Scott McNeil stated this was a mutual agreement. Koepka is known as a competitor who thrives on top-level competition, which he didn’t fully find at LIV. He initially joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns and to secure a good retirement fund. So his decision to skip the final contracted season is not surprising, though questions remain about contract buyouts or partial repayments. He remains owner of LIV team Smash GC, with Talor Gooch as new captain.

Speculation grows about where Koepka will next play: the DP World Tour, where immediate eligibility may come with a penalty; or the PGA Tour, where a one-year suspension remains following his last LIV event, though lifetime bans have been softened. Why be vindictive when each LIV returnee, particularly a star, benefits the more powerful PGA Tour? ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which lapsed after 2022, seeking full player status again.
