Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Returns to PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh wants another shot, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. However, Koepka is a competitive type who thrives on high-level competition, something LIV only partially provided. Having joined LIV in 2022 amid injury concerns near career end, he sought a solid retirement fund. Thus, skipping the last contract year is not surprising, though questions remain about possible buyouts or salary repayments. He also remains owner of LIV’s Smash GC team, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation is rife about which tours Koepka will join next: DP World Tour where he is immediately eligible, possibly paying a penalty, or PGA Tour where he serves a one-year suspension following his last LIV event, after earlier lifetime bans were softened. Given the PGA Tour’s willingness to welcome prominent LIV returnees, this question seemed partly answered when ESPN’s Mark Schlabach revealed Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the player ranks.
