Membership Renewed, No Ban: Brooks Koepka Back on the PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh intends to compete again, Charley Hull to launch YouTube soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion will remain connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time. The decision was amicably agreed upon, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka, a competitor who thrives in high-level contest, was less motivated at LIV. He originally joined LIV in 2022 due to injury concerns and to secure a solid retirement fund, making his skipping of the final contractual season less surprising, although questions remain about financial settlements and ownership status of his LIV team, Smash GC, led now by Talor Gooch.

Speculations arise about where Koepka will compete next — DP World Tour where he might play immediately possibly facing penalties, or the PGA Tour where he faces a one-year suspension since his last LIV event, following softened lifetime bans imposed by former commissioner Jay Monahan. The crucial question seems partly answered: ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reinstate his PGA Tour membership that was not renewed after 2022 and rejoin the players’ pool.
