Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Back on the PGA Tour Immediately

First start at the Farmers, Vijay Singh returns, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will remain connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time. This was reportedly agreed upon amicably, stated LIV CEO Scott McNeil. However, Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, which LIV offered only limited motivation. He initially joined LIV in 2022 chiefly because injuries made him doubt his career longevity, seeking a solid retirement fund. Thus, skipping his last contracted season is not surprising, although questions remain about possible buyouts or repayments. He also remains owner of the LIV team Smash GC, which recently named Talor Gooch captain.

Speculation grows about which tours Koepka will play in next: the DP World Tour, where he could play immediately, possibly with a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension after his last LIV appearance, following softened lifetime bans previously imposed. After reports from ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which ceased post-2022, aiming to rejoin the player pool.
