Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Returns to PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh back in action, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family. This mutual decision was confirmed by LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is known as a competitive player who thrives in high-level sports confrontations – something he lacked during his LIV tenure. He joined LIV in 2022 primarily because of injury concerns threatening his career and to secure a good retirement fund. Thus, skipping the last contractual season is unsurprising, though questions remain about financial terms and his ownership in the LIV Smash GC team now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculations are rife about which tour Koepka will appear on next: the DP World Tour, where he’d be immediately eligible, possibly after a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he must serve a one-year ban since his last LIV event following eased lifetime suspensions previously imposed by former Commissioner Jay Monahan. Why be vindictive when every prominent LIV returnee aids the PGA Tour? ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which had lapsed after 2022, seeking reinstatement.
