Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager for more, Charley Hull coming soon to YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the competing circuit but desires more family time. LIV CEO Scott McNeil confirmed a friendly agreement. Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, which he lacked at LIV. He initially joined LIV in 2022 mainly for financial security due to injury concerns. Thus, skipping his final contract year is unsurprising, though questions remain about possible payouts or refunds. It’s unclear if Koepka retains ownership of his LIV team Smash GC, recently captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation abounds on which tours Koepka will play next. He is immediately eligible for the DP World Tour, possibly subject to a penalty, or perhaps the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year ban from his last LIV event after previous lifetime bans were softened. Why hold grudges when returning LIV players benefit the PGA Tour? ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which lapsed after 2022.
