Membership Reinstated, No Suspension: Koepka Back on the PGA Tour Immediately

First start at the Farmers, Vijay Singh aims for a comeback, and Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. However, Koepka is a competitor motivated by high-level competition, which he has found only limited at LIV. He initially joined LIV in 2022 mainly to secure his financial future due to injury concerns ending his career. Thus, skipping the final contracted season is not surprising, though questions remain about buyouts or guarantees. He remains owner of LIV team Smash GC, which named Talor Gooch the new captain.

Speculation is rife about where Koepka will next compete. He would be immediately eligible on the DP World Tour, likely facing penalties, or on the PGA Tour, where a one-year suspension following his last LIV start applies, albeit reduced from previous lifetime bans. Informed by ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the player pool after his 2022 membership ended.
