Titleist Vokey SM11 Wedges: The New Generation Enhancing Short Game Control

Titleist expands its wedge lineup with the new Vokey SM11 series, designed for consistent shot control, stepped ball flight, and varied options.

The Vokey Design SM11 wedges introduce a new generation of wedges engineered to maintain consistent ball contact, flight, and spin across all lofts. Each loft’s variants are identically tuned regardless of sole shape. Available now for fittings, the wedges will be globally released on February 20th in golf specialty stores.

Titleist Launches Vokey Design SM11 Wedges

A key feature of the SM11 line is its wide range of 27 combinations of loft, bounce, and grind across six sole shapes. Newly added is a 44-degree wedge for finer short game adjustments and new K-Grind options with modified bounce, catering to diverse playing styles and set compositions.

Titleist employs a uniform approach to ball flight tuning with the SM11 wedges. The center of gravity is consistent across all sole types within each loft, ensuring shot distance and flight control remain steady even when changing grinds during fitting.

Consistent Performance and Advanced Design Features

The center of gravity varies smoothly across the loft spectrum: lower lofts from 44 to 52 degrees align with iron flight behavior, higher lofts at 58 and 60 degrees promote a slightly lower trajectory, while 54 and 56 degrees fall in between. This differentiation helps distinct wedge roles within a set.

The wedge faces feature loft-specific groove designs. Lower lofts have grooves optimized for full swings, while higher lofts employ grooves tailored for short shots and tricky lies, with groove volume increased compared to prior models. An added new texture along the strike direction enhances ball interaction on delicate shots around the green. Groove areas are heat-treated to maintain shape longer, and every face is fully quality-controlled before release.
