The new Titleist Vokey SM11 wedges expand the lineup with consistent control, staged flight, and a wide range of options.
Titleist introduces the latest generation of its wedges with the Vokey Design SM11 series. These models are designed to maintain consistent ball contact, flight behavior, and spin across all lofts. Within each loft, all variations are uniformly tuned regardless of the sole grind selected. The new wedges are now available for fittings and will be globally released in golf specialty stores starting February 20.
Titleist Launches Vokey Design SM11 Wedges
A key feature of the SM11 line is its extensive range of options. The collection includes 27 combinations of loft, bounce, and grind across six sole shapes. New additions include a 44-degree wedge for finer short game loft gaps and additional K-Grind variants with adjusted bounce. This versatility caters to a broad spectrum of playing styles and set compositions.
In tuning flight paths, Titleist applies a consistent approach to the SM11 wedges. For each loft, the center of gravity is identically positioned across all sole options. This ensures flight characteristics remain unchanged if a player opts for a different grind during fitting, aiming for uniform distance and flight control across all versions.
Consistent Flight and Advanced Face Technology
Across the loft range, the center of gravity is progressively adjusted. Lower lofts from 44 to 52 degrees are designed to complement the flight of irons, while higher lofts of 58 and 60 degrees feature a slightly flatter ball flight. Mid-range 54 and 56-degree wedges lie between these profiles, helping distinguish individual wedges within a set.
The SM11 wedges also feature modified clubface designs. Different groove shapes are utilized based on loft: lower lofts have grooves optimized for full-swing shots, while higher lofts incorporate grooves designed to improve ball contact on shorter shots and difficult lies. Groove volume is increased compared to preceding models.
Additionally, a new groove structure oriented along the swing path impacts ball-to-face contact, especially on short shots around the green. Heat treatment of grooves in the strike zone preserves their shape longer. Each clubface undergoes full quality inspection before distribution.
